Mrs. Amanda Dunham teaches Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Intro to Engineering Design. Mrs. Dunham is a Dobyns-Bennett alumni. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from MTSU, and then she continued her education at the University of Tennessee with a Master’s in Teacher Education concentrating in Science Education.
When Amanda is not in the classroom, you can find her on the lake either wake boarding or wake surfing. She also enjoys hiking, running, and reading various teen series novels. Mrs. Dunham also is very proud of her insect collection which led her to discover her love of invertebrate zoology and biology.
Mrs. Dunham is happily married, and has a three-year-old daughter, Emma and a Great Pyrenees, Samson, a Golden Retriever, Max, and a Chihuahua named Chico.
Amanda has worked in many capacities in education and has taught from elementary to adult for the past eight years. Mrs. Dunham believes strongly in her teaching philosophy: She is your teacher and here to help you in any way she can which includes: tutoring, letters of reference, even help with college or job applications. She loves to help answer questions and would rather answer a hundred questions than to watch students sit silently in pain, which is why Amanda is an excellent addition to our DBE tribe.
