SENIOR GRADUATION SPEECH AUDITIONS ARE NOW OPEN

Any senior who is interested in auditions for delivering a graduation speech should write a speech according to the Tips for Writing and Delivering an Effective Graduation Speech and upload a Word document or Google doc plus a video of your speech presentation into this form: 2020 Graduation Speech Submissions.

The due date for speech copy and video submissions has been extended to Friday 6/19/20. If you have problems with the submissions or questions about the speech requirements, feel free to contact assistant principal Richard Brown by email at rbrown@k12k.com.

Gatton RX Elements Webinar Series

With COVID-19 shutting down many in-person summer activities for high school and undergraduate students, East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy has launched a free interactive webinar series for students interested in pharmacy.
The 5-week series explores current career options in pharmacy, how to apply to pharmacy school, financial aid options, student life on campus, virtual tour of Gatton College of Pharmacy and a chance to chat to have virtual coffee with the college’s dean, Dr. Debbie Byrd. The series is available for current graduating high school seniors and undergrad students who may be interested in pharmacy as a career. Each session lasts 12-1 p.m., Thursdays, June 18-July 30 on Zoom. Deadline: day before each session.

D-B Sings 2020 - Masquerade Virtual Choir

Because of school closures due to COVID-19, our choirs were unable to perform their Spring concert. The theme for this year’s show, which would have been performed on May 8, 2020, was “On Broadway”, and all the music (a variety of solos, ensembles, and chorus numbers) would have been taken from Broadway musicals. As a way to keep singing and keep a connection with each other, students from the choirs learned one of the chorus numbers in the isolation of their homes. We are very pleased to share this video of their virtual performance of Masquerade.

Senior Personal Data Survey

This is a quick reminder to fill out the Personal Data Survey that Dr. Hampton described in his last correspondence. The survey contains questions about your summer contact information, college plans, where we should send transcripts, sign-ups for graduation speech and singing tryouts, and several other items that are important as we approach the end of the year.
