2021 Governor's School Applications Now Available

You will need to go to the link below and click on the school in which you are interested to download an application. Please remember D-B due dates are not the same as the State deadlines. Students wishing to apply must meet D-B deadlines dates. All applications are to be turned in to the counseling office completed by D-B Deadlines.
TN Governor's School of the Arts is due into D-B Counseling office by November 13th. All other Governor's School Applications are due by December 11th.

TN / VA Scholars Changes Community Service Hours Requirements

SENIORS:  Important information regarding changes to the community service hours requirement for the TN/VA Scholars program.  The academic, attendance, and behavior criteria will remain  the same, however, the community service requirement has changed from the previous 80 hours of community service to 60 hours of community service for this year's senior class of 2020-21.  Deadline to turn in the community service hours is Friday, January 8, 2021.  Information about the TN/VA Scholars can be found HERE and updated information regarding the community service hours is also posted on the Counseling Page on the D-B website.

ACT Vouchers for Seniors

Seniors: ACT Vouchers are available for the October and December test dates. Please request from Mrs. Emmette now through October 27. Please be aware that the October registration deadline is Friday, September 25. Students who received a July voucher are not eligible for the fall voucher.

Yearbook Submission Requests

Students and Parents, the Dobyns-Bennett Maroon and Grey Yearbook needs your help!  Make sure you are in the Yearbook by choosing from the topics below, answering the questions and uploading pics. Answer as many as you like.  Parents, you can submit pictures of your students as well! Submissions for this round of requests will close on Wednesday, September 23rd.  Early submissions will be given priority.  Students, tell us about your: Quarantine Experience, Alternative Proms,
Favorite Trends, Your Job, Friends, Pets, Staycations / Vacations and Friday Night Lights experience.

In honor of College Application Week, ETSU has a one time code for first time freshman to apply for admission for free.  ETSU is extending their free application period to this Friday, October 2nd. Seniors, if you would still like to apply to ETSU for free, make sure to apply this week and use code welcomehome21 to pay for the application fee.
